Unlike the regular game you cannot select specific numbers for the Joker game because, in Austria, the Joker draw corresponds to the serial number on your actual lottery ticket. In Lottoland these numbers are pre-picked automatically using the same numerical structure. Unlike when you play with an actual ticket, however, with Lottoland you also have the option of clicking the refresh button (the circling arrow icon) next to your numbers to generate a new number sequence. Feel free to do this as many times as you wish until you have a sequence you would like to play with. You can also select up to three different Joker number sequences. Each Joker selection costs US$1.70 extra.
Draw Options: The Austrian Lotto and Joker draws take place every Wednesday at 18:48 CET time and Sundays at 19:15 CET time. The extra Friday draw will take place at 18:30 CET time. Select the number of consecutive draws you want to participate in.
Duration Options: The Duration options allow you to select how many games you wish to play. The Sub (subscription) option lets you play these games indefinitely (unless you cancel). So, if you select to play for two draws, you will play for two draws. If you check the Subscription box, however, you will bet until you cancel your subscription and be billed every two weeks.
Finally, you have the JackpotHunt feature. This allows you to play until a given jackpot is won.
As a Lottoland player, you will be automatically notified by email of your transaction and will then subsequently be sent an email with each draw’s results. You will also be sent an email detailing any wins and the amount that has been credited to your Lottoland account.
What is the Joker number and how is it determined?
The Joker number is part of the special Joker bonus game. It is composed of six numbers from a range of 0 to 9.
If you play with an actual Austrian Lotto ticket the Joker number sequence corresponds to your ticket’s six-digit serial number. This is why you cannot pick each number individually as with the regular game.
With Lottoland the numbers are generated automatically, however you do have the option to change these numbers by clicking the Refresh button on the right hand side of your Joker numbers. You can generate as many new Joker numbers as you wish until you land a sequence you are happy with, and you can choose up to three different number sequences at a time.
To win the Joker game you need to have the correct numbers in the correct sequence.
The top tier prize is awarded if you get all six numbers in a row. The second tier prize is awarded when you have the last five numbers in a row, the fourth prize for when you have the last four numbers in a row and so on. The last prize is therefore awarded if you have guessed the final number correctly, where the odds of winning are 1:16
What Interval should I choose?
Whichever one suits you best. You can select subscriptions from just one week to 52 weeks or alternatively just go after the big game jackpots with our JackpotHunt feature.
What is a Subscription?
A Subscription ensures you don’t miss any draws and you can instead keep on playing each draw until you decide to cancel. The period you select will therefore determine your billing cycle.
What does "Participation: When jackpot is" mean?
This allows you to only play when the jackpot is a set amount. So if you choose US$4 million, you will only play draws when the jackpot is at a minimum of US$4 million.
Can I play a future draw?
Of course! Just select your numbers as usual then select the date from the dropdown menu in the Participation section to select the draw date you wish to play. This is ideal if you wish to play upcoming weekend draws in advance and you know you’re going to be away from your computer at the time.
What are the prize tiers for the Austrian Lotto?
There are eight prize tiers for the Austrian Lotto, the first being the jackpot. Please see our question on prize odds above for the full breakdown of prize requirements.
Is the payout guaranteed? How do I know?
At Lottoland we can guarantee you will be paid out on your winnings - regardless of the jackpot amount. At Lottoland you bet on the outcome of the official draw. For all intents and purposes you will have the exact same customer experience as if you were playing the official lottery. The key difference is that we take your bet and we pay you if you win. We are able to achieve this in two ways.
For smaller prize tier payments we make the payment directly from the fund we have from the total ticket sales.
In order for us to make the larger prize tier payments we take out insurance policies to cover the eventuality of a Jackpot win or a substantial payout on the Lotto ticket. Part of the Lotto ticket price you pay goes towards the payment of this policy.
We are registered with and regulated by the UK Gambling Commission, the Gibraltar Gambling Commission, and the Revenue Commissioners in Ireland. In order for us to retain these licences we have to prove that we are able to make the required payouts to our players should they win and that we have the correct procedures in place to guarantee this.
