Spanish Lottery Information
Sunday Lotto is based on the El Gordo de la Primitiva, which loosely translates as ‘the big one’, is a weekly state operated lottery draw from Spain.
Why should I play Sunday Lotto
Sunday Lotto is the most attractive Sunday lottery draw in Europe. It boasts one of the highest minimum jackpots for any state lottery (€5 million), with the jackpot regularly exceeding that figure. The chances of winning the jackpot are very reasonable compared to other European lottos and there’s also a 1 in 10 chance of winning a prize should you pick the SuperBall.
Sunday Lotto Draw Times
The draw takes place every Sunday in Madrid at 9.30pm (8.30pm GMT) and offers a guaranteed jackpot of at least €5 million (US$ equivalent), which is among the largest of any state lottery. It’s also Spain’s most popular weekly lotto draw.
What is the difference between El Gordo de la Primitiva and the Spanish Christmas lottery?
Sunday Lotto is not to be confused with the Spanish Christmas lottery El Gordo, de Navidad, which is an annual lottery that takes place once a year in Madrid on December 22nd. El Gordo de Navidad offers an incredible prize pool of €2.2 billion and you can play it right here from August onwards.
How do I pick my numbers?
Choose five numbers from 1-54 and then select a SuperBall (bonus number) from 0-9. Somewhat unusually, El Gordo de la Primitiva features the SuperBall ‘0’. One of the best features of this draw is that players will win a prize should they pick the correct SuperBall, but fail to match two or more numbers from the main pool.
How do I win the Jackpot?
Match all five numbers and the SuperBall (bonus number) to win the jackpot.

Is the payout guaranteed? How do I know?
At Lottoland we can guarantee you will be paid out on your winnings - regardless of the jackpot amount. At Lottoland you bet on the outcome of the official draw. For all intents and purposes you will have the exact same customer experience as if you were playing the official lottery. The key difference is that we take your bet and we pay you if you win. We are able to achieve this in two ways.
For smaller prize tier payments we make the payment directly from the fund we have from the total ticket sales.
In order for us to make the larger prize tier payments we take out insurance policies to cover the eventuality of a Jackpot win or a substantial payout on the Lotto ticket. Part of the Lotto ticket price you pay goes towards the payment of this policy.
We are registered with and regulated by the UK Gambling Commission, the Gibraltar Gambling Commission, and the Revenue Commissioners in Ireland. In order for us to retain these licences we have to prove that we are able to make the required payouts to our players should they win and that we have the correct procedures in place to guarantee this.
